Padma Seshadri Schools founder Rajalakshmi Parthasarathy dead


Chennai, Aug 6 (IANS): The founder of Padma Seshadri group of schools, Rajalakshmi Parthasarathy, died on Tuesday in a private hospital here due to cardiac arrest, family members said. She was 93.

Popularly known as Mrs. YGP, she was the wife of late actor, playwriter and drama troup owner Y.G. Parthasarathy.

In 2010, she was awarded the Padma Shri - the fourth highest civilian honour in India.

Rajalakshmi Parthasarathy is survived by actor Y.G. Mahendran and Y.G. Rajendran.

The last rites will be performed on Wednesday.
