Mangaluru, Aug 8: Sea erosion is rampant in Someshwara Uchila Battappady. Over ten coconut trees have already fallen on account of sea erosion. The erosion now threatens to consume beach road. A house in Someshwara is facing danger. Steps leading to the seashore constructed by the tourism department from the temple have been destroyed by waves. 

The sea erosion, which started to happen since a few days back, had posed danger to Uchila Battappady road. Even though the Mescom, taking cue of the impending danger, changed the position of some poles, two more poles are facing danger now because of worsened situation since the last couple of days. The road leads to Uchila end point. 50 metres of the road is likely to be consumed by sea erosion. 

Although boulders have been stacked to stop the sea, they have not been able to withstand the force of the waves. The house of Mohan near Someshwara Uchila is now in danger.
