Bengaluru, Aug 8: Mysuru BJP MP Pratap Simha, who had made derogatory statements in social media against actor Prakash Rai, also known as Prakash Raj and his family two years ago, has finally tendered public apology in Twitter.

“Dear Prakash Rai, I had written words that were derogatory in nature, against you and your family on October 2 and October 3, 2017. I believe that it is a matter that would unnecessarily hurt your sentiments. Therefore, I regret my writings in Twitter and Facebook,” he wrote in Twitter.

Actor Prakash Rai in his response wrote “Thank you Pratap Simha. There may be rational differences between us. But it is wrong to comment on private lives. We have reached high levels in our respective fields. Therefore, it is our duty to live as models for others. Best wishes to you,” he wrote.

Prakash Rai was repeatedly criticizing union government and rightwing thinkers when senior journalist Gauri Lankesh was murdered. BJP MP Pratap Simha who was angry because of it, had personally insulted actor Prakash Rai and posted derogatory statements against him in social media.

Prakash Rai had filed a case against Pratap Simha in court demanding compensation for damages caused to him. However Pratap Simha has now realized his fault and tendered apology in Twitter closing the curtain for two yearlong tussle between them in social media.
