Bengaluru: HC serves notice to government over supplying uniforms to students

Bengaluru, Aug 9: The state high court (HC), on Thursday August 8, ordered issuance of notice to the state government in the matter of supplying two pairs of uniforms to school children falling under the jurisdiction of RTI Act for the academic year 2019- 20.

The HC took up a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by Manjunath, son of Devappa Basappa Harijana from Kinnala village in Koppal district. During the hearing, the divisional bench of the HC issued notice to the state government duly asking it to file objections on the application if any.

The court also ordered issuance of notices to the union human resources ministry, chief secretary of the state government, principal secretary in the department of education and others who have been named as defendants in the PIL.

The hearing into the litigation has now been posted to August 26.
