Beltangady, Aug 24: In connection with a case in which youngsters from a particular community created a WhatsApp group that looked like having been formed by another community, and used it to send blasphemous messages about another religion, Beltangady police have arrested the son of Hussain Kunhi from Ramalkatte, Thumbay.
The person arrested now is one of the admins of the group. As he is a minor, the court has granted bail to him.
The youngster is a student of a college in Thumbay. The case pertains to creation of a WhatsApp group in the name of 'Shivaji Fans' with the coming together of about 39 young men from Muslim community, adding Vikram Das from Beltangady to the group, and using the group to post hate material about Hindu gods. Two persons have already been arrested relating to this case.
