When Mughalsarai came to Mumbai

By Puja Gupta

Mumbai, Aug 25 (IANS): Opening the day with some of the hit tunes of Kishore Kumar, the designers of label Jajaabor on Saturday recreated the hustle bustle of the old Mughalsarai junction, now known as the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya junction, at the Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2019.

Designers Neelanjan Ghosh and Kanika Sachdeva launched their collection called "Chai at Mughalsarai Jn" which was an ode to the historic place in Uttar Pradesh.

Models walked down the ramp on old numbers like "Jhumru", "Eena meena deeka", wearing vibrant outfits of easy, geometrical silhouettes.

The line-up was dominated by floral prints on dresses and kurtas. Layering played a role in most of the outfits. One also spotted white and red striped kurtas with matching trousers, animal printed blazers and sarees.

Colours that dominated the collection were ivory, cream, red, orange and yellow.
