Udupi: 'Alare Govinda' team Mumbai stuns people with towering acrobatic skills

Udupi, Aug 25: "Lord Krishna used to form human pyramids during the Dwapara age for breaking the earthen pots containing yogurt hung above the reach of him and his friends. The Yuva Balamitra Mandali Santacruz Mumbai has been recreating this scene in the modern age," said Paryaya Palimar Sri Vidyadheesha Theertha Swamiji. 

He was speaking after inaugurating 'Alare Govinda' meeting programme that was held under the aegis of Paryaya Palimar Math and Sri Kanaka Cultural Forum at Vasanta Mantap of Srikrishna Math on Saturday August 24.

 

 

Junior Swamiji of Admar Math, Sri Eshapriya Theertha Swamiji noted that success is assured to anyone who coordinates physical power along with mental and spiritual powers by striking a fine balance between the three. He said that 'Alare Govinda' team has been able to break the earthen pot containing yogurt hung above 50 feet by using this principle. 

Sri Vidyarajeshwara Theertha Swamiji, junior Swamiji of Palimar Math, said that Lord Krishna protects his devotees in spite of the depth of problems they are mired in. He added that those who work with total faith in the Lord are sure to succeed. 

Managing director of Kalkur Builders here, K Ranjan Kalkur, opined that Udupi, which was earlier known as a religious centre, has now emerged as a cultural city. He hailed the eight Maths here for contributing immensely to make this happen. 

Bhauvanendra Kediyoor of Hotel Kediyoor Pvt Ltd, entrepreneur, Hariappa Kotian, actor Sachin Suvarna, Santosh of Balamitra Mandali, president of Kanaka Cultural Forum, Rajendra Poojary, Madhusudan Poojary Kemmannu, Dubai Prakash Poojary, Yuvaraj Muscat and Santosh Bolje were present. 

The 110-member 'Alare Govinda' team from Mumbai erected a human pyramid with its 110 members in front of Hotel Kediyoor here on the occasion of Srikrishna Jayanti and successfully broke the earthen pot that was hung above. Sponsors Bhuvanendra Kediyoor, Hariappa Kotian, Hiriyanna Kediyoor, Gopal Kunder, Jitesh Kediyoor, Yuvaraj Muscat, Yuvaraj Kediyoor, Prabhakar Poojary and organizers of 'Alare Govinda' team, Madhusudan Poojary Kemmannu and Rajesh Nikkam were honoured. Thousands of people had gathered to witness the event. 

Since morning, a grand exhibition of gymnastic and other skills were exhibited at ten centres all over the town. The people, who were dumbfounded by the kills, encouraged the artistes with thunderous applause. 

The shows were organized in front of Kanaka Gopura, Kadiyali main road, Shyamili Hall, Pai International, Kaniyoor Math, Puthige Math, Hotel Kediyoor and Hotel Diana since Saturday morning. Members of well-known Yuva Balamitra Mandali Santacruz (east) Mumbai presented these programmes.
