Mangaluru: Police bust prostitution racket at Someshwar - Two women arrested

Mangaluru, Aug 26: The City Crime Branch raided a house near Someshwar on Monday, August 26, after they received a tip-off that prostitution is taking place.

Police arrested two women, who were pimps and were running prostitution business in the house which they had rented.

The arrested women are identified as Arundhathi (33), a resident of Manjeshwar. The second woman is Saraswathi (37), a resident of Jeppinamogaru. 

Two other people Ranjitha and Dilraj, managed to escape. It is gathered that Ranjitha used to bring women from Bengaluru and Dilraj owns the house. The police have launched a search.

Two mobile phones and Rs 20,800 was seized from their possession. 

Under the guidance of police commissioner Dr Harsha, DCP's Arunagshu and Laxmi Ganesh, the operation was carried out by CCB inspector Shivaprakash R Naik, CCB PSI Kabbalraj and his team.
