Mangaluru: Theft of electrical equipment - One arrested

Mangaluru, Aug 27: Relating to the theft of electrical equipment belonging to a firm located in the special economic zone here, a person, Muhammed Shamir alias Cheriyonu (30) was arrested on Monday, August 26 from Mura.

As many as 30 stainless steel glands and a pick up vehicle totally valued at Rs 3.10 lac were confiscated from his possession.

Evio Pvt Ltd is a firm executing electrical works on contract basis. The electrical equipment belonging to the firm were locked inside a temporary shed.

In-charge of the firm, Sathish, had noticed on the morning of August 20 that the lock of the shed had been broken open. He scrutinized things and found that 601 electrical cable glands worth Rs 2.11 lac had been stolen.

A complaint about the theft had been registered in Bajpe police station.
