Mangalore: Chethan Shetty Murder Case – City Police Arrest Four

Mangalore, Jun 28: Dakshina Kannada police have arrested four persons involved in the Chethan Shetty murder case and also seized a motor cycle used to commit the crime in an operation conducted at Surathkal on Sunday June 28.
Addressing media persons on Sunday June 28, superintendent of police Dr A Subrahmanyeshwar Rao said that the arrested have been identified as Mustafa (30), Hameed Sarfaan (21), Mohammed Azharuddin (21) and Mohammed Ashraf (27) all residents of Surathkal near here. The operation was conducted by a special team led by Mangalore sub-division deputy superintendent of police Dharmaiah under the supervision of inspector general of police (western range) Gopal B Hosur on definite information, he said.
It can be recalled here that Chethan Shetty (28) of Poornesh Stores at Kudpady, Jeppu in the city was assaulted using lethal weapons by a group of miscreants on May 28 at 8.30 pm. The grievously wounded Chethan succumbed to injuries at KMC hospital on May 29 at 4 am. Mangalore South police station had registered a case in this regard.
