Dubai, Aug 28: Ace director Harry Fernandes’ much-awaited Konkani movie has been already completed and is ready for release. ‘Benddkar’ the name itself narrates that movie is an entertainer which relates to the dying yesteryear’s art of band especially associated with the Catholic Community which is being highlighted and remembered for the first time in this movie. The Dubai Grand Premier is scheduled on October 25 with ticket release function in Dubai o be held on September 20

After successfully presenting hit Konkani movies like ‘Nashibacho Khell’, ‘Zanvoy No. 1’ and award winning ‘Sophiya’, the Mumbai based experienced director Harry Fernandes has been promoting Konkani movies for the Mangalureans as well as Goan community. This time he is also one of the producers of ‘Benddkar’.

Under the banner of Harry Fernandes Films, Dolphi Rebello Production, Prince Jacob Production & Alvares Creations ‘Benddkar’ (The Musician) is scheduled for censor in India. ‘Benddkar’ has been created in both in Mangalurean and Goan dialects to cater to all those film lovers of both states as well as abroad.

‘BENDDKAR’ has some of the well-known stars including Bollywood’s Varsha Usgaonkar, Goa’s Prince Jacob, John D’Silva, Kevin D’Mello and Naisa Lotlekar with Mangaluru’s well known star Stany Alvares, Dubai’s stars Deepak Paladka, Joseph Mathias, Sunitha Menezes and Claud D’Leema with Cyril Castelino, Sneha Metha, Sujatha Andrade, Alwyn Andrade, Manu Bantwal, Nikita Peris, Dolphy D’Souza, Ivan Furtado, Hannah Furtado, Archibald Furtado, Salomi Alvares, Floyd Cascia and the famous Jolly Brass Band of Perampalli.

Story, screenplay, dialogues and direction have been creatively crafted by Harry Fernandes whose dream is to give importance to and highlight the life of band artists whom the current generation has completely forgotten with the invasion of modern days DJs. He has plans to share a percentage of the profit from the screening of Benddkar with some distressed families of band artists.

Harry Fernandes Barkur never forgets his role model, the famous Hindi film director Lawrence D’Souza of ‘Saajan’ fame with whom he was an assistant director and made films including ‘Nyay Anyay’, ‘Prateeksha’ etc. He also was part of very many Marathi and Bhojpuri films namely ‘Shame to Shame’, ‘ Ek Ful Char Half’, ‘Anjane – the Unknown, ‘Gola Barood’, ‘Bhumiputra’, ‘AajKe Karan Arjun’, ‘Ganga JamunaSaraswati’, ‘Bhojpuri Bhaiya’ etc. Has worked with superstars like Govinda, Manisha Koirala, Sanjay Kapoor, Laxmikanth Berde, Ravi Kishan & Manoj Tiwari. His contribution to cinema has credited him with very many awards including recent ‘Best Director Award’ for Konkani Film ‘Sophiya – the Dream Girl’ by Government of Karnataka, Hyssna Global Award and many more accolades in Bhojpuri films too.

‘Benddkar’ is all set to have a grand premiere in Dubai followed by releases all over the world including India (especially Mumbai, Goa and Mangaluru). It is assumed that with the support of Konkani linguistic community worldwide, this movie will make a big impact across Konkani movie world and will create a new record.
