Bengaluru: Shivakumar advises Yediyurappa to keep promise to flood-affected people

Bengaluru, Aug 29: Former minister D K Shivakumar, asked chief minister, B S Yediyurappa, to keep up the promise of payment of compensation of five lac rupees for house construction and monthly rent of Rs 5,000 he promised to the flood-affected people.

He was speaking to media persons. He warned that his party will carry out agitation against the state government if it fails to properly respond to the needs of the affected people.

Shivakumar said that emergency relief amount has been distributed in Kundagol constituency but Belagavi is yet to do it. "The BJP was pressurizing Kumaraswamy to waive farmers’ loans before he proved his majority. Now let alone loan waiver, I doubt whether they will honour their commitment and distribute relief and compensation amount as promised to flood-affected people who have become destitute," he commented.

Shivakumar said that 17 portfolios which have not been allotted in the state, have been kept pending, awaiting the arrival of our Mumbai friends. He said he is eagerly awaiting to see them becoming ministers.

    Money is gone......... 80% looted 20% donated to flood victims but papers will show that full money is spent...

    Come on guys, people have trusted and voted for you, now don't let them die in flood... How much money can you all keep in your account, you are not gonna take it when you go up... So plz help the homeless ppl...

    Enough is enough.... As the saying goes, too much money ain't enough money...

    This is what is happening...

    No control over the leaders..... Tax payers are looted and blinded, only God can take steps to straighten these tails.

    The BJP and Chief Minister Yediyurappa can only keep the promise of 'Operation Kamala' to MLA's of the opposition party.

    For the Kanndigas flood victims of the state as per the party, they don't belong to the 'Hindu Rashtra'. The priority of the BJP is to rule the state and not humanity.

    The party can spend Rs1000 crores for 'horse-trading', free accommodation of dissident MLA's in the five-star hotel stay with night party and private jet service for hop-on and hop-off service.

    As long as Kashmir issue is dragging on, who cares few kanndigas dies from the billion populated nation?
