Bengaluru, Aug 29: Congress leaders, who are frustrated by their Lok Sabha election debacle, have been blaming veteran party leaders for their defeat.

Former union minister M Veerappa Moily, has accused ex union minister Jairam Ramesh, of being too talkative and causing the failure of several schemes brought by UPA - 2 government to fail. He wants disciplinary action against leaders like Jairam Ramesh, who was his cabinet colleague in the union government, and Shashi Tharoor to infuse vibrancy in the party. He is angry at Shashi Tharoor for praising Modi government on some issues.

On the other hand, former union minister K H Muniyappa, who too was defeated in the recent Lok Sabha election, demanded for the expulsion of former assembly Speaker K R Ramesh Kumar, from the party.

Congress is continuing to scrutinize reasons for its crushing defeat in the Lok Sabha election. Members of fact finding committee have been touring the state and listening to views expressed by local leaders and workers. Sonia Gandhi, who has taken over as ad hoc president of the party, is trying to infuse vitality in the organizational set up of the party. But the leaders have been indulging in bickering and passing the blame on each other.

Speaking at Malur near Kolar, Muniyappa said that party leaders, Ramesh Kumar, S N Narayanaswamy, and Nazeer Ahmed are shameless. He said that they should be expelled from the party and if they have sense of self respect, these leaders should not enter Congress office again.
