Bhatkal, Aug 31: The girl, who consumed poison along with her lover in a bid to end her life but survived in the act, killed herself by jumping into the well on Friday, August 30.
Sangeeta Madeva Naika (24), a resident of Bidramane of Kaykini village, who had returned to her home after getting treated in the hospital, having survived the suicide attempt with her lover Gagan Iswar Naika (27), who died in the act, killed herself by jumping into the well.

Sangeeta and Gagan, who were in a relationship, had consumed poison on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 28 at Soolebeelu forest of Manki. Gagan died on the spot and Sangeeta was rescued and was admitted to a private hospital in Manipal by the locals. She returned home on Thursday after recovering in the hospital. However, her body was found in the well near their home on the morning of Friday, August 30.
Madeva Naika, father of Sangeeta has filed a complaint in this regard at Murdeshwar police station.
