The woman requested the governor in her letter to either allow euthanasia for her daughter or take action against the doctor who refused to treat her daughter.

The teenager born in 2000, has been suffering from mental illness since the age of 4 and gynec issues since the age of 8. Earlier the girl was under treatment at the hospital where her father worked as a senior assistant. Unfortunately, the situation turned sour when a new head of the Psychology department was appointed. Dr Rajya Lakshmi was the one who refused to treat the mentally ill Jahnavi.

After the girl was refused treatment, the parents approached the court who ruled in their favour. However, Dr Lakshmi paid no heed to the court order.
