Bantwal, Sep 1: Youths at Okkethur, Vittal rescued an elderly person getting washed away after falling in the lake on Saturday, August 31.
The person rescued is identified as Krishna (65).
Krishna was away from his family since the last thirty years and used to earn living wandering around. He was currently employed in a bar at Peruvai but had remained absent from there since the last twenty days.
He had got down in Okkethur lake to wash hands and legs. He accidentally slipped in the lake and was getting washed away when the youths rescued him. He was later taken to hospital by Friends Vittal ambulance. Police visited the spot.
