Mumbai, Sep 3: The tourism development board of Maharashtra, on Tuesday, approved the proposal of two resorts in Jammu and Kashmir and set aside Rs 2 crore for the proposal. Tourism minister Jaykumar Rawal said he will be visiting the sites in Srinagar and in Ladakh soon to take further decision on the proposal.
As per officials, the government in the first phase is looking at two resorts and a third one which is still under consideration will be in Jammu.
"There are many tourists from Maharashtra who could benefit from the resort and also after prioritising them, other tourists too could use our resorts as their stay option," said an official as per TOI report. With this proposal, Maharashtra is going to be the first state in the country to propose investments in J&K after the abrogation of Article 370.
