Udupi, Sep 4: A tempo carrying a group of tiger dance performers toppled near Santhekatte here, killing one and seriously injuring two. This incident occurred on the morning of Wednesday, September 4.

The tempo bearing registration no KA-21 A-8344 was plying from Kemmannu to Santhekatte. As it approached Nejar of Santhekatte, the driver lost the control of the vehicle as he was driving the same at high speed as a result of which the templo toppled.

Sumanth (27), one of the troupe member, died in the accident. Two people who are seriously injured are admitted to KMC hospital in Manipal. Others who received minor injuries are being treated at the Goretti hospital of Kalianpur. There were 17 people in the tempo according to sources.

Police visited the spot and undertook investigation.

    As per vehicle insurance clause:
    *Vehicle should be used for which purpose it is meant.
    (i.e. goods vehicle for goods,passenger vehicles only for passengers)
    *now driver is liable to pay entire cost and compensation! driver should know better before driving any vehicle!

    Goods carrying vehicle cannot carry passangers as per indian law.

    Due to overloading cannot able to balance the vehicle properly. Secondly due to rainy season roads are slippery. As it's in morning cannot able to declare third reason.

    This happened in Karnataka and the tempo is also karnataka registered one and the party ruling in Karnataka since 2014 was khangress and coilation till last month
