D K Shivakumar to be in ED custody till September 13

Delhi, Sep 4: A Delhi court on Wednesday sent Congress leader D.K. Shivakumar to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody for 10 days, a day after the financial probe agency arrested him on money laundering charges.

He would be presented before the court again on September 13.

The former Karnataka minister was presented before a special MP/MLA court, which was presided by Special CBI Judge Ajay Kumar Kuhar.


 

Senior advocate and Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi and another senior lawyer Dayan Krishnan were representing Shivakumar, while Additional Solicitor General K M Natraj and Special Public Prosecutor Nitesh Rana spoke on the ED's behalf.

    D K Shivakumar's only crime was that he provided protection to those Congress MLAs in Gujarat who were being poached by the NDA-BJP during the Rajya Sabha elections.

    Modi-Shah’s BJP has taken India’s politics of vendetta to a new level. Indian politics is caught in a vicious cycle of ‘do unto others’, and the BJP has escalated it by weaponizing CBI, ED, I-T, TV channels and social media. Govt using CBI, ED as personal revenge-seeking depts. The Modi government’s selective pursuit of justice against corruption is a witch-hunt.

    The central government wants to save Karnataka BJP government from 'operational Kamala' which is hanging in waffer thin margins. The strategy of the party is to D K Shivakumar surrender like 'Himanta Biswa Sarma' in Assam and 'Mukul Roy' from Trinamool in West Bengal. Once the 'Go to' man and troubleshooter is kept under continues money laundering case the BJP will plan for 20 seats who are disqualified for dissidents in his absence.

    It is a known fact that Home Minister Amit Shah and Udupi based Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) BL Santhosh who was promoted as the National General Secretary (Organisation) of the party and looking after the affairs on the Karnataka. It is also believed that BJP wanted to replace BL Santhosh for Home Ministry once held by the Jan Sangh member Dr. Acharya.

    Unfortunately, as an opposition JD(S) and Congress has never raised the ‘hard questions’ on BJP's own corruption of B.S. Yediyurappa has become Karnataka’s chief minister again despite being the very image of corruption in Karnataka. Accused in land and mining scams, with diaries recovered from his possession showing hefty amounts being paid to top BJP leaders, judges and advocates, Yediyurappa today stands tall, acquitted of most of the charges.

    Also, the opposition is completely forgotten the Reddy brothers of Bellary mining scams worth Rs 16,500.

    Hope D K Shivakumar will not end like former CM Jayalalithaa.

    If people start believing in such stupid argument, no politician can be investigated or punished. Today congress will complain vendetta, tomorrow BJP. So you cant touch them.

    There is prima facia evidence against DKS. When all farmers are in trouble, how come DKS/ Pawar etc showing extraordinary amount of agricultural income?

    DKS is also having corrupt image, he must be punished.

    It's wastage of time BJP to negotiate a deal with him and lure him with money till Sept 13. It's better to be in congress as king with honesty than a dirty slave with BJP for rest of life. Just look at the fate of rebel MLAs bought by BJP!?!?!?!

    ' Middle Name' is earned name. Besides this there are other Middle Names like Feku, Daku, Cloud & Radar Scientist, Chowkidar Chor Hai,, Foreign travelling PM, Suit Boot PM, Monkey Baath entertainer, Tea Boy, Cow Boy Modi.

    ok..hopefully before Diwali he will be out..if not Chauthi then Diwali can celebrate... Govt should find people who torched public buses and instruct Revenue dept to attach their property to recover loss..many may not be knowing that activist Hiremutt was collected many evidence against DKS and running pillar to pillar, but DKS is used every means to escape for long..
