DFS rescues man trapped in pit in Delhi


New Delhi, Sep 10 (IANS): A 40-year-old man was rescued after he got trapped inside a pit which he was digging for Jal Board in northeast Delhi's Shastri Park area, the fire officials said on Tuesday.

The victim has been identified as Mohammad Tavrej.

"We received a police control room call at around 9.50 a.m. and two fire tenders were rushed to the spot. A man was trapped in the pit was rescued and rushed to Jag Pravesh Chandra hospital," said a senior fire official.

The victim was later shifted to Guru Teg Bahadur hospital in an unconscious state where he is undergoing treatment, they added.
