Mangalore: Petty Fight over Car Parking kills One

Mangalore, Jul 12: In an unfortunate confrontation over an issue as trivial as car parking at Ujjodi near Pumpwell in the city on Saturday July 11 late evening, a person was assaulted by sword by another person following which the man assaulted succumbed to injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Harish Poojary (50). The incident occurred when Poojary and John D’Souza, both residents of Sheetal apartment at Ujjodi fought over disagreement on the issue of car parking. It is learnt that Poojary initially man-handled D’Souza, who on being enraged went to his residence and brought a sword. In fit of rage D’Souza assaulted Poojary with sword due to which the latter suffered grievous injuries.
Though Poojary was taken to a private hospital in the city immediately, he died on the way. D’Souza fled from the spot. Poojary owned a welding shop in Naguri on city outskirts and D’Souza is a contractor by profession. While Poojary has two little daughters, D’Souza is the father of three little children. A case has been registered at Kankanady Rural police station.
