Mangalore: Bearys Welfare Forum, Abu Dhabi organizes Mass Wedding Ceremony

Mangalore, Jul 13: Bearys Welfare Forum, Abu Dhabi, organized a mass wedding ceremony at Milagres Auditorium, here at 10.00 am on Monday July 13. Sixteen community couples were solemnized in marriage by Kazi Al Haj Abdulla Musliar Chembarika, on the occasion.
Former state minister B A Mohideen inaugurated the ceremony. Speaking thereafter, he said that mass wedding ceremony organized by the members of Forum, who are working in the Gulf countries because of their genuine concern for the poor in community, is a laudable gesture.
Meanwhile, Mohideen urged the community to stem the dowry menace through empowering the masses with education and vocational training, since Islam does not propagate dowry in any means, he urged.
Abu Dhabi Bearys Welfare Forum president Mohammed Ali Ucchil, in his presidential address, said that wedding is a sacred bond that is essential for leading a life of fulfillment. The members of the Forum working in Gulf countries have been performing mass wedding ceremonies as humanitarian services, to help their less-fortunate brethren in the community, he emphasized.
Another significant humanitarian task of donating wheel chairs to the physically handicapped community brethren also was given a beginning at the venue, with the donating of 12 wheel chairs on Monday July 13.
Yenapoya University chancellor Y Abdulla Kunhi, MLA U T Khader, Milagres parish priest Fr Walter D’Mello, city unit of Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy president M B Abdul Rehman, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district Muslim Central Committee president K S Mohammed Masood, Bangalore Bearys Welfare Association G A Bava and JDS national activist A A Hyder Partippady were the chief guests present on the occasion.
Abu Dhabi Bearys Welfare Forum vice-president Hamza Abdul Khader welcomed the gathering. Mohammed Ali Darimi recited the Kiraat. Forum chief secretary Abdulla Madumule delivered the introductory address. Forum internal auditor Abdul Majeed A G proposed vote of thanks.
