Mumbai, Sep 18: A 30-eight-year-old bank employee was allegedly assaulted by his neighbour, a builder, on Wednesday evening in Naupada for delaying the elevator of their building.
As per police, Rahul Paithankar, who lives on the fifth floor of Suyash Apartment in Vishnu Nagar, was on his way to the railway station with his mother and as they were getting into the lift, his mother’s footwear got stuck between the doors. It took Rahul a couple of minutes to pull out the footwear and the delay annoyed Hasmukh Shah, who was waiting one floor above to board the lift with his son. The duo got into a heated argument on their way down, inside the lift and as soon as it reached the ground floor, Shah assaulted Paithankar who suffered bruises on his face and hands. The assault was captured on the society’s CCTV cameras.
As per Mumbai Mirror report, the police on Monday booked Shah with voluntarily causing hurt, wrongful restraint, intentional insult with an intent to provoke breach of peace and criminal intimidation. Shah is yet to be arrested.
In the meanwhile, some workers of MNS intervened in the matter and on Sunday cornered Shah in the society, threatened him and made him issue an apology on camera.
