Mumbai: Anita P Poojary bags first rank in M A Kannada

Mumbai, Sep 18: Anita P Poojary Takode bagged first rank in MA (Kannada) examination held by Mumbai University in May securing highest number of marks.

Anita hailing from Takode, Moodbidri, Dakshina Kannada district has a BA degree from Karnataka open university, Mysuru. She has been residing in Mumbai for the last two years and is a talented student. She has made a name for herself by being a poetess, story writer and columnist. Her works Kayutha Kavithe, Antarangada Mradanga collection of poems and Mariyalada Madimal tulu poems are already published.

Her book on achievements of Dr B Janardhan Bhat by the name Savyasachi written under guidance from Mumbai University Kannada division head and lecturer Dr G N Upadhya is published. She has also written a book about Karnataka Natak Academy awardee, well known drama actor Mohan Marnad. She has received Sushila Shetty Memorial Poetry award by Jagajyothi Kalavranda for her Antarangada Mradanga work and Allama Sahitya Award from Janaspandana Trust, Shikaripura. She is selected for current Dasara Kavigoshti. Kannada department head Dr G N Upadhya has commended Anita Takode who is the executive committee member of Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha, Maharashtra.
