Mangalore, Jul 14: Inaugurating the Silver Jubilee programme of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Dr Veerabrahmachary, President of Karnataka Board of Homoeopathic System of Medicine said that the board is vested with the responsibility of maintaining a register of qualified homoeopaths who are practicing in the state. However, we have taken certain proactive steps to create public awareness of homoeopathy and also to enhance the standards of homoeopathic practice and practitioners.
He said some of the steps have taken by the Board is "Organising of CME programs in all parts of the state. Government of India has made a proposal to start CME programs for registered homoeopathic doctors and possibly link it with renewal of registration, as is the practice in some western countries. Even before it became legislation, as is the practice in some western countries. Even before it became legislation, we have acted proactively and started such programs free of charge to all the doctors registered with us. We have already organized the CMEs at Bangalore, Belgaum, Dharwad and Mangalore. We will have more such programs in every zone so that doctors can take benefit of it and update their knowledge."
"We want from the state Government 25 bedded Homoeopathic hospitals in all district head quarters, 10 bedded Homoeopathic hospitals in all taluk Head Quarters and one separate Homoeopathy wing in all Primary Health Centres. (PHC). "
There is a further need to achieve a greater share and responsibility in the national health care movement. Homoeopathy has the potential to achieve it. It all depends on how we join together and set a glorious future for the students of today and doctors of tomorrow.
