Mangalore, Jul 16: Because of the heavy rains coupled with strong breeze that hit the city and surrounding areas on the night of Wednesday July 15, several low-lying areas were marooned.

Rising level of water made it impossible for the residents of Kallapur Kudru near Tokkottu to continue to live there. Kallapu Patla school looked like an island with water everywhere around it. Water entered the school buildings.

People living in the areas inundated in the rainwater, were evicted with the help of boats. Leaving behind their possessions at home, they shifted to the houses of relatives and close ones, located in higher altitudes. Smaller children were helped by the elders to reach safer places while some enthusiastic people waded through waist-deep water.

No doubt, the late rain Karnataka, specially in Dakshina and Utthra Kannada Districts made people to suffer a lot by loosing their houses, property, and even some lives, we are not in a position to grumble or talk ill amoung ourselves because of the heavy rains. They are all Gods plans, and we will never be understood His plans. Instead let us pray for the suffering people and pray to God , tosave us from further loss and damages in the forthcoming heavy rains. Wew will alwaYS TRY TO SAY thy will be done AND PRAY FOR ALL. tHANKS, pRAISE THE lORD, AND tHANKS BE TO gOD FOR THE GOOD RAINS WHICH gOD GAVE US FOR OUR OWN GOOD. lORD hAVE MERCY ON US EVERY MOMENT OF OUR LIFE. tHY WILL BE DONE.

I totally agree with Charles D''Mello. If you visit the other countries they dont ask your from which religion or Cast. India & Mangalore will never improve if these RSS or the Bajrang Daal. They attack on people when ever they want , coz the CM is given them the full support , the recent attack that took place on a person , where the cops are just watching the fun? So ask people please educate your self dont fall into the pit of religious VOws etc . Thank you Daiji Team

these pics just the true nature of mangalore residents.we as a layman neither indulge in any communal violence nor a party to it.its just dat some anti social element and politicians hurt the religious sentiments of peace loving people for political mileage.if u see most of the cases only unemployed and uneducated people indulge in these kinds of violence and if there is any untoward incident happening we cannot blame the whole community.people of Mangalroe are hailed all over the world as educated and cultured.so lets keep this faith among us alive nd kicking.if our representatitives and police are doing their job, mangalore will soon turn out to be the palce which it used to be once upon a time.thats peaceful and free of any communal or other kinds of violence.let us pray to whichever God we believe in that this day may be a reality as soon as possible

Politics and reality is different....If you read anything politically Pakistan is India''s enemy...!!!??? If you remember when Indians had been to Pakistan to watch cricket match...many of the hotels were considering Indians as there guests and they were refusing to take money,....!!!! Even in Gulf countries everybody respect each other, irrespective of country of origin...!!!!??? This enimity is political, in real life everybody has to love thy neighbour...that is what is happening..!!!!???

What a strange stuff we are! In Disaster no one can beat our unity and humanity....In fits of Furore no animal can beat our Brutality. Oh Allah! Let this helping nature and kindness towards human being be forever in our hearts and minds, come whatever situation in this short but beautiful life on this earth.

Definetly the boatman is a Saint at this point of time in crisis to all the religions. If a mention is made of St. Sebastian, he should be a christian. All those who vandalised churches and christian institutions - please note.

When we see pictures in the begining feel bad,but when it comes to the end,(boat pics)really feels proud to be a mangalorean/indian.  When there is any kind of natural disaster/problem, no one is looking for their faith..its called humanity. Be a human being first then everything else...jai kudla.

Happy to see my native place photos. The man in St. Sebastian boat is Mr. Marshal, the people call him as "Angadi Porbu", who is running shop in Kallapu, a friendly person. Usually in Kallapu, all the religion people are living in good understanding. Missing the flood for several years. Thanks Daiji for capturing home place photos. Spoorty, you missed to capture my home.

What a lovely Scene. Thanks daijiworld, This pictures really makes very feel those who talk about relegious. Atleast now they will realize that in this world only one religion that''s God. We are human beings and all are one, all humans blood is same colour, there is no blood colour like Green, white or Orange which these colours are representing in some religions. I hope atleast people will think to start to love each other without comparing his/her religion. St. Sebastian (boat) you have shown to people that how we human kind are helpful and love our neighbour.

You have shown to us how our neighbours should live together with love and prosperity. You have shown to people how to be good friend with our neighbours. You have shown to people those who fight for relegions without reason that they can realize their attitude. You have shown, that you do not bother your relegious and you think that all relegious are one colour and one GOD and all human kind is one. Thank you St. Sebastian and God bless you for your kind generous help. KEEP IT UP and God has already blessed you and your family.

It is really sad to see poor people only are suffering. Readers as well as commentors can you please see how the St. Sebastian boat is helping poor people and how he saved from dangerous. This is the really we need it in this world such a helpful nature without seeing any religious. Dear readers as I am a Hindu I trust all the people and religious. Those who comments against religious please stop it now and start to help each other. Do not involve in any politics matter. Please start to think social work like St. Sebastian Boat helped so many poor people from the out of danger. My question is St. Sebastian is compared his relegious during this difficult time. I pray the LORD to help poor people from struggling in any nature kind and bring them up. GOD BLESS St. Sebastian and Good luck for you and your entire family.
