Bengaluru, Sep 25: Rain continued to wreak havoc in parts of the state on Tuesday September 24. After the attic of a house collapsed due to heavy rain, a woman lost her life. Sangeeta Jogappa Katti (19) died after the attic of her house, unable to stand strong wind and rain, crashed on Monday night. This incident happened in Salahalli village in Kalagi taluk, Kalaburagi district. Her mother, Bhagyashree, however, escaped unhurt. 

Rain was also experienced in Tumakuru, Chikkaballapur and some parts of Chamarajanagar district. Due to heavy rain which was experienced in Chamarajanagar district, a huge boulder slipped and blocked the road, obstructing traffic between Mahadeshwara Hill and Palar. People of Hassan suffered as torrential rain for half an hour left the roads flooded.

Mandya district has been getting good rain since the last two days and most of the lakes and ponds are full. Water from some ponds flowed into nearby fields after their walls breached. Protective walls of some more are facing the prospects of collapsing. 

Because of heavy rain which was experienced in Gadag district for several hours since midnight on Monday, low-lying areas of Gadag - Betageri twin-towns were inundated.
