Mangaluru: Srinivas Institute Technology launches Mechanical Engineering student association ASMA

Mangaluru, Sep 25: The inaugural function of the activity of ASMA, the students’ association of Mechanical Engineering department and Institute of Engineers India student chapter, Srinivas Institute Technology for the year 2019-20 was held on September 24.

Ramesh Kumar Y, associate general manager- Mechanical Operations, UPCL Padubidri was the chief guest of the function.

Ramesh Kumar Y stressed on the role of Mechanical Engineering in day to day life. He also emphasized the contribution of Mechanical Engineering in all the engineering areas. As a Mechanical Engineer, it is very important that every individual must indentify the interesting areas and start working on that to further improve skillset which is achievable and innovative.

Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D, principal of the college and president of the function congratulated the members of the association and said more activities should be conducted under the association for the development of the students, thereby enhancing their technical and managerial skills. He also suggested the students take interest in inter discpline areas which are in demand in the industry such as machine learning, artificial intelligence etc.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Shankar K S, head of the department of Mechanical Engineering gave a complete scenario of technical education and stressed the need for student involvement in the association for the development of the department. Faculty advisor of ASMA, Prof Lokesh V briefed on the activities of ASMA. Faculty advisor of IE (I), Prof Sathish K G introduced the members of ASMA.

The programme was welcomed by Kawshik N N, president of ASMA, while Suhail president of IE (I) introduced the chief guest. Thanushree Shetty and Thanuja compered the programme while Tejas delivered the vote of thanks.
