Udupi, Sep 28: Karnataka health minister Sriramulu on Saturday, September 28 visited Koosamma Shambhu Shetty Memorial Haji Abdullah Mother & Child Hospital.

Sriramulu visited the hospital and visited the in-patients of postnatal and other wards.

The minister further held a meeting with the hospital officials regarding various issues. Speaking at the meeting he said, "Under Aysuhman Bharath scheme, patients need to avail referral letter from government hospitals. This will be restricted to level 1 and level 2 patients. For level 3 patients, direct admission facility in private hospital will be allowed. Soon a circular will be issued for the same.”

On the request of MLA Raghupathi Bhat to include one unit of government doctors at Koosamma Shambhu Shetty hospital, the minister said, “Within 15 days, a meeting will be held with the MLA, management and concerned persons in Bengaluru. MLA Raghupathi Bhat had insisted to include a government unit in this hospital from beginning. Soon this issue will be resolved.”

Manager of the hospital Kushal Shetty, MLA Ragupathi Bhat, zilla panchayat president Dinakar Babu, ZP member Geethanjali Suvarna, district surgeon Madhusudhan Nayak, DHO Dr Ashok, Dr Prashanth and others were present.
