Daijiworld Media Network - Bantwal (ANK)

Bantwal Sep 29: A family of mother and two children and a dog jumped from new Netravati Bridge at Panemangalore on late Saturday night of September 28. One among them is dead.

The deceased person is Kavita Mandanna (55). Her children Kaushik (29) and Kalpitha (22) are missing and the rescue operation is on.

Local residents noticed three people jumping off the bridge. They managed to rescue the mother and the dog. The dog was holding the lady tightly, they said.

Kavita breathed her last while she was being taken to the hospital.

The family had parked their EECO car next to the new bridge. The vehicle has the number KA 09 MA 489 which is a Mysuru registration.

As per the initial reports, the family is from Virajpet in Kodagu district. Kavita’s husband, Kishan, a businessman, was missing from some days and his dead body was found in Mysuru on Saturday. It is said that he had died of heart attack. Kavita and her children, who could not bear the grief, took the car and travelled towards Bantwal. Kavita phoned her brother in the evening and said they would not live anymore. After that she switched off the mobile.

Fire brigade and police personnel are involved in the rescue operation.

Bantwal police have registered a case.

Local Government authority or NGO must arrange immediate compulsory counselling for a family members who they lost sole bread winner.

Its more important for police/authorities to save innocent families rather than focusing more lazy bike riders to check whether they wore helmet or not.

Govt must think and bring a policy in this regard. Immediate counselling by experts for bereaved family is a must after disaster stuck to their family

Very sad incident. pray that this situation will not come to anyone.

People who have good job now,  stop spending money unnecessarily, stop putting photographs of your family international trip on Face book just to show your wealth and compete with others, be down to earth, our small children cannot cope up later when we loose our job.

Do not just read the news and forget it, take right action for your family.

Why the people are coming to coast all the way from other parts as if there is no river in their place?
we should not allow to commit suicide anyone in our soil.
Why because if a person dies with out completing his or hers age which is given by God then the athma or spirit will loiter in that area until his life on earth ends!!and tends to cause more accidents suicides etc etc.!!believe it or not!!

It is time the authorities raise the wall on either sides of the bridge so that no one jumps off. Some iron beams can be fixed so as to discourage people from easy access to take their lives. This is so tragic.
