Sullia: Absconding accused arrested after 13 years

Sullia, Sep 30: An accused, who was absconding since 13 years was arrested by the Sullia police on Monday, September 30.

Ahmed Rafiq, son of Aboobacker, a resident of Uliyathadka Mane, Koodlu village, Kasargod in the state of Kerala is the person who was arrested by the police from Vidyanagar of Kasargod district.

Court had issued a warrant for his arrest, but the accused was absconding for the last 13 years.

A case bearing crime number 146/05 column registered under 292 (2), (a) and LPC no 01/09 was registered under Ahmed Rafiq 13 years ago.

    Very sad
    Section 292 of IPC is such a vague section many times case doesnt stand at all
    This deals with Obscenity in public
    Even Gore kissing Shilpa Shetty was also under this IPC
    I think this case is put as a revenge on Ahmed Rafiq,
    why waste time of the Court and police for this
    This section should be removed or amended

    13 years restless and few more year solitary confinement.
