Mangaluru, Sep 30: Minister for Tourism, Kannada and Culture C T Ravi inaugurated the three-day international confluence of hearing and speech impaired - 2019 here at Sanghanikethan on Monday, September 30 organized by Anam Prem - Keep sprinkling love.
Speaking on the occasion, C T Ravi said, "I am delighted to inaugurate this programme. Many children over here cannot hear or speak. But to do any good work it is not necessary to hear or speak. Though we cannot understand your language, we can understand your feeling and we will respond to it positively.”
Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath said, "Two months ago, the organizers had approached me to conduct this programme. We have made all types of arrangement as children from various states of this country, including children from Sri Lanka have come for this confluence. So it was necessary to make these children feel homely. These children should explore places in Mangaluru as Dasara in Mangaluru is very famous after the Mysuru Dasara,”
On the first day of the three-day confluence, competitions such as drawing, mono acting, drama, news reporting along with workshops on animation, flower making, clay making, jewellery making will be conducted.
On the second day, the children will be taken for site seeing at Pilikula, beaches and Kudroli temple. On the third day cultural event and prize distribution programme will be held.
President of CREDAI, Naveen Cardoza, proprietor of Modern Bed House, Prashanth Pai, proprietor of Ideal ice creams, Mukund Kamath, president of fisheries union Harish Acharya, district BJP treasurer Sanjay Prabhu, president, VHP, Jagadish Shenava, trustee of Kudroli temple Ravishankar Mijar, Yogesh Desai and Prashanth Bhat from Anam Prem were also present among others.
