But both of them have been totally neglecting their mother. It is said that they even inflict mental and physical torture on the lady.

She had approached the JMFC court here, seeking orders to her sons to pay her monthly maintenance expenses. Ratnavati explaining her plight said that she is alone now and finding it hard to maintain herself.

Judge of the JMFC court here, Nagaratnamma, in her interim order, asked both the sons of Ratnavati to pay her Rs 10,000 per month each with immediate effect. Aggrieved Ratnavati is being represented in the court by advocate Handakunda Ashok Shetty.

Good decision by our judiciary... but my experience is as under.
Sons may want to help their family I.e parents, brother or sister but man always obey their wife as they want peace in their house. Wife will object to support men's family but for her family wife will keep mum.

Shan Udipi, dear friend, one should not obey wife and neglect mother.sure he should know what is right and wrong.Wife as you say wants her family. where as son wants only his family.Thatswhy a man should be a man enough to decide what is good and where is the need to help. Here court has right ,they are well off dont neglect mother ,and hear only what wife says.some wives dont want to look after the old lady.(even son)Son can live seperate with family as circumstances are but same time dont put your mother in the corner and neglect.

read the poem 'your children are not your children' by Khalil Gibran. You will get the meaning.
Parents should not depend much on children. Save enough and live in old age homes. If not orphanages. Better than listening to the gimmicks of children or their spouses.

Sometime I watch in temples..young couple bringing there small child below one year for god's blessing...and standing in severe heat for more than three hours.

Even on that time child sleeping on mother's shoulder..she take much care of child often not bothering of herself. Her aim child can lead a good life from the beginning of life.

Sometime even she protect child by hiding from evil eyes. Her sacrifice whole life..towards child..make person stronger. After become adult people forgetting totally there parents due to there old age...as it's for them become some sort of burden.
