Bantwal, Oct 11: Additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of the district, Roopa, has directed the concerned to suspend three operators of Atalji Janasnehi Aadhaar Kendra registration centers at Bantwal and Vittal offices over financial irregularities.

The suspended staff members happen to be Vittal center’s Prabha, and Bantwal center’s Asha and Vijaya. The action has been taken over allegations that they were collecting Aadhaar correction charges from the people without the knowledge of senior officials.

They had kept the amount collected by them with themselves without remitting it into the department's account. After the matter came to the notice of tahsildar, Rashmi, she had got the amount deposited in the department’s account.

However the ADC, taking serious view of the lapse, directed the concerned to suspend the three staff members because of dereliction of duty. Tahsildar’s office has informed that the center will remain closed for two days until alternative arrangements are made.
