Dubai: Chirantana to hold 'World Cultural Festival' on Oct 11

Dubai, Oct 11: ‘Chirantana’ has been conducting cultural activities in Davanagere since 19 years and has provided many programs at the state and national level. It is now hosting the first internationally celebrated dance music festival in Dubai. It is a sincere attempt to provide an international platform in Dubai to Karnataka's finest art teams, which brings together about 900 artisans.

Academy of Performing Arts, Chirantana is a proud organization of Davanagere. Chirantana, has made a name for itself in dance and music for over 19 years, is known for his regular classes and new experiments in Davanagere as well as the surrounding districts and states.

Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Usha Uttup, Praveen Godkindi, Kadri Gopalanath, Sangeeta Katti, Praveen D Rao, Nagaraj Hawaldar, Hiriannayya, Mimikri Dayanand, Kaivalya Kumar Gurav, Shyamala G Bhave, Ravindra Yavgal and many more fantastic artists has endorsed and performed at Chirantana Stage by winning the hearts of the people of Davanagere.

Chirantana performed at Mysuru Dasara, Hampi Utsav, Vishwa Kannada Sammelana, Delhi Kannada Sangha, Karnataka, etc., have won the national admiration. Chirantana has also performed successfully in other countries like Qatar, Dubai, Singapore, London and Sri Lanka. Chiranthana has made an international appearance by showcasing their art across the globe.

This time, Chirantana is hosting an International event on October 11 ‘World Cultural Festival’, an international dance and music and dance Festival at the Credence Auditorium, Al Quoz, Dubai, hosted as an innovative event to encourage the budding artists to blossom further. Around 80 skilled artists from across Karnataka will perform different dance styles to impress Dubai fans. Yashwanth Sarashpande's comedy chat programme ‘Rashi Chakra’ will float the audience on the fun floor.

Mysuru Krupa Padke team will perform glamorous folk-style dances, the fame of Aptamithra movie, Guru Sridhar Jain with his team will be performing classical and contemporary dances, creative team of Bengaluru will perform classical dance in Kathak fourm, and renowned yoga dance instructor Dr Lata Shekhar's team will perform a varied and attractive yoga dance. Team Chirantana team will perform wonderful contemporary dances. In addition to the dances, the event will also feature a smooth soothing musical entertainment.

On October 10, a team of about 140 people travelled to Dubai to celebrate this occasion in Dubai. The event is co-sponsored by Kannadigaru Dubai, Dubai Kannada Sangha, Alain, Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha, Karnataka Sangha Sharjah, Colors, PR & Events, Ayush TV and Shankara TV channels.

In addition, International Excellence Awards are being given to the Gurus/Achievers who are representing the cultural heritage & serving the performing arts internationally.

1. Mohammed Mustafzfa - for the service of Kannada & Culture in Dubai
2. Harish Shergarh - for the achievement in the field of Kannada and Music in Dubai
3. Sridhara Jain - for dance and social service
4. Vidushi Seetha Guruprasad - Bharatanatyam and Costume Design
5. Dr Lata Shekhar - Yoga
6. Dr Srinivasa Murthy - Employment field
7. Revathi Kamath - Environmental Protection and Lake Development

Renowned for its varied performances, Chirantana will present the event with Kannada songs, Kolaata and innovative dance moves.

This event is free and open to all. Chiranthana whole heartedly welcomes Dubai artistes to witness, enjoy and support the event and make the programme successful.
