Chikkamagaluru: Siddaramaiah lambasts central govt for lack of people's concern

Daijiworld Media Network - Chikkamagaluru (SP)

Chikkamagaluru, Oct 14: Leader of the opposition, Siddaramaiah, who has launched a tirade against the state and central governments for misusing investigating agencies to tame opposition leaders, has now chided the 'Prime Minister with 56 inches chest' for not having any concern for the poor people.

Speaking at a press conference held here on Sunday October 13, Siddaramaiah said that the compensation released by the government is grossly inadequate and not even enough to provide some solace to the aggrieved people. He blamed the central government for taking 60 days to release a small amount of relief for flood-affected people. "103 districts from 22 districts have reeled under the influence of flood this time. 90 have died, and the floods have inflicted loss of over one lac crore rupees. Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, never visited the state. He claims to be having a 56 inch wide chest but what is the use having such a big chest if he does not nurse concern for the pool? The BJP government does neither have ears nor eyes," he slammed the government.

Siddaramaiah noted that Modi had, through his tweet, consoled the people of Bihar when flood devastated that state, but he did not even show the courtesy of giving confidence to the people Karnataka through assurances. "Did the people of our state choose 25 BJP members of parliament to get this kind of treatment?" he wanted to know.

The former chief minister pointed out that the government did not agree to the demand for announcing the flood situation in Karnataka as national disaster. He said that if it was considered as a national disaster, Karnataka would have been eligible for more money. "Chikkamagaluru district has suffered widespread damage due to heavy rainfall and two farmers have committed suicide. We do not know where is the Lok Sabha member representing this constituency now?" he wondered, duly reminding to the people that during the Lok Sabha election, a 'Shobha Go Back' campaign had been launched by the BJP activists.

Presently our PM Modi is very much concerned of Japan's flood and losses. He has no time for Indian states.
