New Delhi, Oct 14: On Sunday, passengers of the ambitious Vande-Bharat express from Varanasi-Delhi were without AC and lights for over one hour.
The train was found stranded at the Allahabad station for a long time. Few minutes before reaching the station at 4.50 pm, the AC went off. It was rectified at around 6.00 pm after which the train left the Allahabad station.
This was not the first time there was a technical snag in India's fastest train. Earlier in the year, a minor fire broke out in the transformer of a coach.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the New Delhi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express, popularly known as Train 18, on February 15. The train has an indigenous electric multiple unit (EMU) manufactured by the Chennai-based Integrated Coach Factory (ICF).
The semi-high speed train can run up to a maximum speed of 160 km/hour. Built at Rs 100 crore, each train has 16 compartments, with two first-class coaches.
Along with the fire and AC defect, a day after it was launched in February, the train faced malfunction in the brake system near Tundla railway station, around 200 km away from Delhi.
