Bengaluru: Deve Gowda suspects motive behind IT raids on Parameshwar, Shivakumar

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Oct 14: Former Prime Minister and JD(S) national president H D Deve Gowda, has said that income tax raids conducted on former deputy chief minister Dr G Parameshwar and Shivakumar, have given rise to suspicions. He said that Parameshwar and Shivakumar were in close contact with Kumaraswamy when he was the chief minister of Karnataka. He told the media representatives that he suspects that the attacks might be in the form of revenge for closely working with Kumaraswamy.

"These educational institutions have been in operation since the time Parameshwar's father was looking them after. His brother was looking after these operations. After his demise, Parameshwar has been managing the institutions. There are about 300 medical colleges in the country and it is impossible to manage 80 percent of these medical colleges strictly as per rules and regulations," he explained.

H D Deve Gowda

Leader of the opposition in the legislative council S R Patil, said that the income tax raids are conducted against Congress leaders to pressurize them either to stay out of politics or to join BJP. Speaking to reporters at Bagalkot on Sunday, he accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi, of engaging in anti-democratic acts. He said that such raids cannot scare Congress leaders. He also demanded proper investigation about the suicide of Parameshwar's personal assistant, Ramesh.

Deputy chief minister Laman Savadi and union minister Prahlad Joshi, said that income tax raids have nothing to do with Ramesh's suicide. He reminded Patil that Parameshwar himself has said that this incident should not be linked with politics. Joshi said that the raid was conducted as medical seats meant for poor candidates were diverted to others.

Note the irresponsible reaction from an ex-prime minister of the country. "There are about 300 medical colleges in the country and it is impossible to manage 80 percent of these medical colleges strictly as per rules and regulations". More is not necessary to specify and less is insufficient to leave it unsaid, but collective conscience of progressive society should explore ways to throw this fellow out from politics.....!
