Mangaluru: Yellow alert - Heavy rains expected in coastal districts for two days

Mangaluru, Oct 15: The meteorological department has predicted heavy rainfall in the three coastal districts of Karnataka beginning from Tuesday. It has issued yellow alert for Tuesday. 

The department has noted that southwest monsoon wind has been moving swiftly in coastal Karnataka and therefore expects heavy rain in Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, and Uttara Kannada districts on October 15 and 16. It also expects areas in south interior Karnataka to get rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning. 

Places like Shivamogga, Kollur, Bhatkal and Sagar got good rainfall on Saturday night and Sunday. Unusually intense lightning and thunder had given rise to concern among the people. Ballari district has been getting rainfall regularly since the last two weeks.

    Weather pattern drastically changing all over the world. Typhoon Hagibis produced a record deluge that caused deadly flooding in highly populated areas of Japan.
    Lightening and thunder most terrifying natural event to take place ! People must exercise precaution.
