Dubai, Oct 19: Non-resident Kannadigas in UAE are celebrating Kannada Rajyotsava every year with pomp and gaiety. The 64th Rajyotsava will be celebrated by them this year on November 8. It is the 16th celebration of Rajyotsava in Dubai. It will be held in Heartland International School, Dubai Medan Nad al Shiba on November 8 at 4.30 pm. Head of Infosys foundation, Padmashree awardee, Dr Sudhamurthy who will be the chief guest of the occasion will be felicitated with ‘Kannada Rathna award for 2019’ in the programme.
Ambassador of India in Dubai Vipul will be present as guest of honour. Army officer Capt Navin Nagappa who had fought in Kargil war in 1999 will be another guest. Mustafa Mohammed, entrepreneur and Kannadigaru Dubai sponsor, Fortune hotels group’s managing director Ravish Gowda, Darshini Manjunath of Nrathya Disha trust and other elite will participate in the programme. Popular Radio Mirchi and Kannada Kogile producer R J Siri will conduct the programme. Nrathya Disha Trust, Bengaluru team and school children residing in UAE will entertain by dance, music and other Kannada cultural programmes.
Kannadigaru Dubai Sangha chief convener Mallikarjuna Gowda has said that entrance will be free. The organizers have requested all the Kannadigas to arrive and make the programme a success.
