Abu Dhabi, Oct 21: Toll gate fines will be reduced by 25 per cent if they are paid within 30 days, announced the Department of Transport in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.
In the decision issued by Chairman of the Department of Transport Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, motorists would pay only 75 per cent of the fine if the payment was made within 30 days.
While issuing the decision, the Chairman also announced that the traffic toll regulations in the emirate that has been published in the official gazette will be implemented with immediate effect.
As per Khaleej Times report, earlier this month, the Department of Transport had announced that the motorists will not be charged until January 1, 2020 regardless of the toll gates have come into effect in Abu Dhabi from October 15.
In the new monthly limit introduced, a motorist needs to pay only Dh200 for first vehicle, Dh150 for second and Dh100 for each additional vehicle, in addition to existing daily cap of Dh16 per vehicle.
