Bengaluru: Husband-wife duo executes honey trap plan through daughter - Arrested

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Oct 24: A couple which used their daughter to make money through a honey trap plan, stands arrested by the Malleshwaram police here. It is said that the couple, which had succeeded in forcing a couple, whose son is a dentist, to part with Rs 42 lac, was trying to extract more money from them when the harassed parents approached the police.

The arrested couple has been identified as Leena Kavita (43) and Pramod Kumar (45).

A 21-year-old girl had been befriended by a dentist through a dating app. The two became friendly and visited a lodge. The parents of the girl went to the lodge, obtained details of the dentist's parents, acted like trying to instill good sense in them, before going away. The couple later called up the mother of the dentist, Ashalatha, who works as lecturer in a private college at Malleshwaram here, to tell her that they have photographs and video footage of the intimate moments of her son with their daughter. They demanded payment of one crore rupees failing which they threatened to post the photos and videos on social media.

Ashalatha, feeling threatened, visited the hotel where she was asked to come, and met the couple. The couple claimed that their daughter had become pregnant because of her son. They said that they have video proof of what had happened, and threatened to go before the media seeking justice. They demanded payment of one crore rupees if she wanted them to stay away from making the matter public.

Initially, the dentist's parents, fearing about their reputation getting sullied, issued a cheque amounting to Rs 22 lac in favour of the couple. On the next day, the couple called to say that the doctors had demanded Rs 20 lac to abort the pregnancy. As they were repeatedly pressurized, the parents transferred Rs 20 lac to the bank account of Leena Kavita. As they continued to get demand for more money, the couple decided to go to the police.

In the complaint, the boy's parents mentioned that they paid Rs 42 lac under duress within a period of five months. City (north) deputy commissioner of police, Shashikumar, said that Leena Kavita and Pramod Kumar couple has been arrested and the girl is being questioned.

What a mean way the couple used to earn money through daughter.Police should confirm whether this was used to "earn"money previously too.I dont think this is first time.Since amount is so high ,that were experienced ones. They never thought of daughter.Any respectful parents will do this.Let them rotten in jail.let them pay back whole money ,let now daughter live alone elsewhere.Third class people.why didnt the dentist parents complain to police on demanding first time itself.?

This may not be a true honey trap story. Both had a consensual sex and perhaps the girl got pregnant. She wanted to keep the baby. The settlement was probably for aborting the baby and keep the records clean for their unmarried son. Once aborted, there is nothing to worry about child support, inheritance, social stigma etc. I thing parents of the boy are smart. They can even get their money back now (partly of course). No parents would sell their daughter for honey trap and make money. Story is twisted.

The economy of the country is so fallen that people, without jobs are trying to sell their own daughters!!

In addition, the premier of the country itself is not bothered about his better half. So people have taken a cue from him and are doing all these things.

A country which boasts of providing the oldest traditions and beliefs has stooped down to such a level.

Only the arrival of Lord Brahma will put an end to all this.

The only profession now left is Pakoda chai Pakoda chai

Don't justify blackmail and immoral activities by blaming the state of economy. It is the greed of people to make quick money and that too an obscene amount of money that is the problem.

There are millions of people who suffer from poor financial conditions for so long; irrespective of the current condition of the Economy of our Country. All these people don't sell their daughters as you claim. Only those who prefer money over everything else opt for these kind of earning methods.
