New Delhi: Centre asks former PM Deve Gowda to vacate govt bungalow

Daijiworld Media Network - New Delhi (MS)

New Delhi, Oct 27: The union government has asked former Prime Minister (PM) and JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda to vacate the government bungalow provided to him as a guest accommodation since he has lost the Lok Sabha elections.

The Vittal Bhai Patel House at Lutyens' in the capital was reserved for Deve Gowda as a guest accommodation. Similarly, the central government has asked 25 former MPs also to vacate the government accommodations that were provided to them when they were in power.

According to Lok Sabha regulations, a MP has to vacate the government accommodation within one month of losing the position. However, in the case of former PM H D Deve Gowda, already five months are over, since he lost the Lok Sabha election. The 16th Lok Sabha was dissolved by President Ramanath Kovind on May 25.

These are shameless, guiltless freeloaders enjoying at pub;ic expense. They should be made to pay rent (with interest) at market rate; furthermore, tax officials should go after them for ill-gotten benefits.

Nothing new. These people are used to freebies, looting public money, amassing wealth and troubling the common man, rather the common citizen of this country. And look at this elderly gowda, even at this age he has not lost greed. Then they will talk about Gandhiji's principles and way of life every now and then. thank God Gandhi ji is not alive to see all this.
