Mangaluru, Oct 30: Congress party has released the list of candidates for the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) elections to be held in November. 

The list is as follows.

State Congress president Dinesh Gundu Rao has signed the list on Wednesday, October 30.


Dinesh Gundu Rao 

There are 60 candidates in the list.

    But there is fire power in young people

    Without dhoni Indian team is still doing good

    Congress party has let down young Christian leaders once again. Among 60 seats they have given only 4 seats to Christian candidates. They should have replaced senior Corporators like Lancelot Pinto, Naveen D'Souza, Jacintha Alfred by Asha D'Silva and some other youngsters. Lancelot Pinto is 6 time Corporator and that too in Bejai ward only. So people of Bejai area are very unhappy with this. There are many young and enthusiastic Congress workers whom the ex MLA , MLC and the DCC President have ignored. And Congress will come to know its effect very soon. Congress leaders like Janardhana Poojary, Veerappa Moily, Oscar Fernandes, Ramanatha Rai, J.R.Lobo, Ivan D'Souza and others never encouraged any upcoming young Christian in Mangalore. Corporator Asha D'Silva was doing great job.But she was denied a ticket. So why the Christian Community support Congress? Some of the young Christian leaders may go to JDS and SDPI parties. Just wait and see.

    The very fact he has won 6 times shows his work and the trust the residents of Bejai ward have for him.
    If I can recollect when he contested for MLA, he lost for a margin of 3k votes which says enough in comparison to the margins the party lost for before or after that.

    Moreover, when someone is doing well, why are we acting like crabs and dragging them down?

    Youngsters need to come up no doubt and I feel that too. Defaming your seniors, belittling, working against them for a seat, jumping parties and then brooding of not getting a seat in a party is merely an irony.
    If there is no loyalty and thought of service, then there is no point conversing.

    Why are the young leaders you talking about are only Behind the Winning 4 Christian Leaders Wards. When there are 60 wards why these young people coudnt try in other wards and only wanted to replace 4 wards ??????? If they replace Old 4 Hardworking leaders the number might come to 1 from 4 during the results.
    Did these young leaders you talking about have ever asked the Sitting Christians Corporators to Support them ????? Instead these people want to REPLACE THEM.
    When these Christian Corporators are already winning and still people want them to work why are these young leaders simply creating problems.
    There are 60 wards, if these young leaders you talking about had really tried in other wards and got seat the numbers would have increased to 8 for Christian candidates but NO here only REPLACE the 4.
    Asha Dsilva's Ward had come into General Category reservations so she wasn't eligible there and she resigned as Corporator in 2017 and then rejected her resignation and joined back.
    People want Hardworking Candidates not Hindu or Christian or Muslim or Uncle or Aunt or young Youth or Old..

    So in this case no chance for the grass root level workers in Congress Party? The youngsters are used only for door to door canvassing?

    Loyalty and seniority hepled Congess Party to win 44 seats in 2014 and 52 seats in 2019 in Loksabha Elections!

    So field only loyal and senior candidates as long as they can walk. Forget about the replacement, but are only 4 or 5 are eligible to contest? Ashith Pereira is the only youngster who got the seat. So lets not bother about BJP, Congress or JDS, we shall elect only the hardworking and non corrupt(?) corporators this time.

    Ashit Pereria got the Seat not because he is only Young !!!!! He is a Hardworking Youth who has worked in NSUI with a Post, Youth Congress with a Post and apart from that he has taken various posts in his ward with responsibilities and gathered the Youth. Because of that he was Considered and Given the seat.
    Tell us few names of youth who have worked in Youth Congress and NSUI ??? They dont want to Start from the Youth Organisation but directly Jump for Corporators.. In a Door to Door Campaign there are 10 to 12 people who come in support for the candidate not in a intention to get replaced.
    For Catholic Youths there are so many organisations and Opportunities to work for like YCS, ICYM, Catholic Sabha, Ward Gurkar, Parish Council and show their talents, Hard work and Come Up, Has those youths have ever Involved too ?????...
    Do not call Youth Leaders to those who just Stand behind MLA's , MLC's and MP's for Pictures and think are Hardworking. I too have many pictures like that.
    MLA and MP seats have been lost by Congress, with Huge Margin, and If Newly people are given seats BJP will Completely sweep Congress. Good Decision by Congress to keep few Hardworking peoples choice Seniors !!!!!
