Kasargod: C R Shetty Inaugurates All India Kannada Cultural Conference

Kasargod, Aug 10: Mangalore-based 'Hrudaya Vahini', Kannada publication and the city-based Karavali Cultural Foundation jointly organized the sixth All India Kannada Cultural Conference at Lalita Kala Sadan, here, recently.

Dubai Karnataka Sangh and UAE Tulu Koota president C R Shetty inaugurated the conference, by lighting the lamp.

President of the conference Ramachandra Baikampady, Karnataka Fisheries Development Board chairman Ramachandar Baikampady, MLA Ahmed Ali, Karnataka Kannada Sahitya Parishat former president Harikrishna Punaroor, Baroda senior journalist S K Haleyangady and others were present at the occasion.

'Hradayavantaru Award – 2009', was presented to Jayaprakash Rao Puttur, for his significant contributions to the field of public relations, during the valedictory ceremony.

Border Area Development Authority special officer Sangamela Badavadagi, Swamiji Shanta Mallikarjun of Bijapur, Mumbai Kannada scholar G D Joshi, 'Hrudayavahini' editor K P Manjunath Sagar, Foundation chairman Shivaram Kasargod and other distinguished personalities were present at the occasion.
