Mangalore: Union Minister Veerappa Moily Inaugurates Bearys Institute of Technology

Mangalore, Aug 10: The Bearys Institute of Technology (BIT) at Inoli Padav near Konaje, was inaugurated by union minister for law Veerappa Moily on Monday August 10.
Speaking after the inauguration, Moily said, “Quality education is required to make a perfect human being. So, we have to lay emphasis on giving quality and value-based education. India is in the third place in terms of education amongst all the countries of the world, but there is a need to improve the quality”.
“The UPA government is supporting higher education in India of which technical education is a major part”, he added.
Dr V S Acharya, state home minister, said that as the demand for engineering is increasing, BIT will help promote students for India, and one of them might even become a great engineer like Sir M Vishweshwaraiah.
Mufti Mohammad Ashraf Ali Saheb, rector, Sabeel-ur-Rashab Arabic College, Bangalore, said the prayer.
Prof H P Kincha, vice-chancellor of VTU, Belgaum, Prof K M Kaveriappa, vice-chancellor of Mangalore University, Nalin Kumar Kateel, member of parliament, B A Moideen, former minister of higher education, U T Khader, member of legislative assembly, and Dr S K Raikar, principal of the institute, were present.
Prof B M Hegde, former vice-chancellor of MAHE, and member of the advisory committee of BIT, also spoke. Syed Mohammed Beary, president, Beary’s Institute of Technology, welcomed all.
