Mangaluru: St Theresa's School observes patriotic Kannada Rajyotsava

Mangaluru, Nov 1: The 63rd Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated by St Theresa's School on November 1 at the school auditorium.

The programme began with the lighting of the diya by the chief guest, Surekha, principal, vice-principal and senior staff.

The chief guest was welcomed with a floral bouquet. The children were enlightened on the significance of the day. The audience was mesmerized by a semi-classical dance by the students.

The life of Onake Obavva who fought the forces of Hyder Ali single-handedly with a pestle in the kingdom of Chitradurga of Karnataka was captivated in a dance drama form, keeping the children enthralled by their fabulous performance.



The melodious voices of the children hailed the beauty of the state of Karnataka. The boys showcased the amazing facts of the state through a patriotic dance.

Surekha highlighed the day’s importance and requested the audience to keep alive the spirit of the state language in the school. She stressed on growing in appreciation, love and respect for our language and culture and to keep the flame of Kannada burning brightly.

The audience stood in reverence to the state anthem sung at the end.
