Mangaluru: Former MLA Mohiuddin Bava clarifies assault issue, bribe allegation

Mangaluru, Nov 1: Former MLA Mohiuddin Bava has clarified his stand on the assault incident that took place outside a private hotel after the announcement of the final list of candidates of the Congress party for the upcoming MCC elections.

In his clarification on the incident and also accusation of taking money for issuing ticket, Mohiuddin Bava said, "Son of former mayor of MCC Gulzar Banu and driver were together just before the scuffle that took place. Argument was going on with regards to the issuing of ticket. At the same time, Banu’s son suddenly attacked me.

"It is a baseless allegation that I have taken money from her. I have not received money from anyone. We had given Gulzar Banu ticket from the Congress party on two occasions. In the last elections, she was rejected by the voters. Everyone has the intention of contesting elections again. Police have registered a case of assault. The cops have collected all information in this regard from me,” he said.

    Impartial means giving CONgress MCC ticket to a person paid 11 Lakh's and not return 10 Lakh's taken from Gulzar Banu???...

    These allegation's are from COngressmen not from me...

    Current MLA from there is 'Koolida Doctor / Dentist'...if he does the same...my criticism is more...because he is more educated than this Bava...

    Honesty in dishonesty???....

    Bava has done better work compared to current MLA, may not be highly educated, he fared better than expected, impartial and helped all communities regardless religion, cast and faith!

    If she is so confident and she has done good work she can contest on her own, why she need Congress? There are other parties too or she can contest independent. It's a shame! Her son agrees that they are corrupt. They paid money to get a ticket in MCC, what good work we can expect from her? If she is ready to invest 10L for a ticket, imagine how much returns she might expect after winning?

    Well to clarify the statement, her son has alleged that Ex MLA has taken a bribe from the candidate who has been given the ticket. And she is contesting as an independent candidate. She definitely doesnt need a petty party like Congress, which doesnt recognize hardworking party members.

    Giving bribe is also equal crime! Aren't they corrupt while paying bribe? If he is saying that he has given money let him come with evidence to prove Bava is default. Since he have agreed that he paid bribe, at present scenario, Gulzar Banu and her son are default. Let them prove with evidence that they have paid 10L to Bava. Untill he comes with proof from payment, it's baseless.

    And for your kind information, donation paid to political parties are not a bribe. If they have paid in cash, they were holding black money, let income tax department scrutinize them for paying amount in cash.

    Mrs. Gulzaar Banu might have lost the third time election but she was a successful corporatorfor 2 consecutive term.. So u conclude to say that since she has lost the last election n she doesn't have right to contest again then same goes well with u.. U too have lost the last election n next year u r not fit to contest n pave way for other aspirants..

    Well said Sarafaraz. The issue here is of a jealous man trying to fiddle with a woman's political career. She has done so much of work for the Congress party even when she was not elected as corporator.

    Why 'Fight' in front of Hotel...please arrange the 'Wrestling match' in front of CONgress office ...and sell tickets in advance...so people are entertained....Don't waste your 'talents' in this silly way...Live telecast in local Channels even better...

    Even better invite Junior Gundu as Chief guest....his late father is also from same 'Wrestling' background...its an honor in CONgress to indulge in these activities...
