The Coast Guard ship, 'Vikram' was patrolling the Indian maritime border, its staff signaled two fishing boats which were found to be moving about suspiciously in Indian territorial waters on October 21. The boats did not stop and continued to move ahead at which the ship stopped them and conducted checking. It was found that the fishermen did not possess any documents. Besides, they also behaved irresponsibly. Immediately, the boats were taken into custody and brought to New Mangalore Port here. On the way, out of the Avi and Ishan boats, Avi developed technical problems near Lakshadweep and sank in the sea. Fishermen of that boat were brought here.

The arrested fishermen are found to be Iranian citizens. They have been charged with illegally entering Indian maritime border without permission, undertaking fishing there, obstructing Indian Coast Guard officials from discharging their duties, and illegally collecting water resources belonging to India.

A case was registered in Coastal Security Police Station. The deputy superintendent of police here, under the guidance of the superintendent of police, has been investigating.

Going by their names, they are from the province bordering Baluchistan. Not real Iranians. Put them on a boat near Karachi.

India and Iran have some common interests and so does Iran with other neighbors. That need not come in the way of illegal fishing in each other's waters. They need to be dealt according to the international law and agreements between India and Iran. Both Iran and India are mature enough to deal with their respective citizens are on the wrong side of each other's law.
Please do not forget the clubbing of Palestine with Kashmir of the Ayatollah not that long ago. As has been suggested in the comments that these 15 members be returned with lot of sweets: do not expect similar treatment by Iranians if Indian fishermen are caught on the wrong side. Many Indians have lost their lives and identity inside Iran, while operating in Iran.

In politics ...there are no permanent friends or permanent enemies ...there are only the countries interests ..that is in play.
now that India is playing great friends with UAE and Saudi ..along with USA ..wont bother much with Iran ..as long it gets supply of crude oil from X or Y.
But mind you ..Iran is part of persian civilization ..they have intelligence and abilities Similar or better than India. The thing about these Islamic and christian invaders is that they have completely wiped out these great civilizations .. Be it mesopotamia (Iraq) ..Mayan civilization of the original America..(LAtin america) ..The Greek civilizations ..al victims or islam or christian..invaders

Shettere, not sure I understand your comment. The west and east have wiped the civilization and you want our Indus valley civilization to spread to the world? Our civilization has produced only scoundrels, cheats, rapists, Lynchers. We have the most corrupt politicians in the world. I think, the world has progressed far ahead of us and we will never be able to catch up with our mindset. Rest of the world is better off from the influence of our civilization!
