Bangalore, Aug 13:
Tears trickled down the eyes of several prisoners, young and old, as the Archbishop Dr Bernard Moras told prisoners at the Bangalore Central Jail "You can feel the goodness of God everywhere, even in the prison if you could think of the love and forgiveness God has for you.  His goodness shines on the sinner and the saint like the sun shines over everyone"

"It is my earnest prayer that you experience a new hope in life and get a new lease of life". The Archbishop along with members of the Church-run Prison Ministry of India had post-birthday celebrations with the Prisoners. He spent 4 hours at the Prison (11 am to 2 pm).

"Do not look at yourselves as prisoners, but as sons and daughters of a forgiving God.  Make an effort to change your ways" he told the inmates as he prayed over them and the prison staff.  He applauded the work of the Prison Ministry which is engaged in providing rehabilitation programs for released prisoners and homes for family members of those serving a sentence.
